BAZHAI VASYL, born on October 4, 1950, Tartakiv village, Lviv oblast — Ukrainian conceptual artist, abstractionist, performer. In 1979 graduated from the The Lviv National Academy of Arts. Tutors: Carlo Zvirynskyi, Roman Selskyi. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. One of the co-founders of the Lviv Institute of Contemporary Art. The artist takes active part in exhibitions in Ukraine, Europe and the USA. Participant of the exhibition “Contemporary art of Ukraine”, New York, USA (2006). The works of Vasyl Bazhai take its rightful place in the collections of the national museum of Ukraine and foreign museum collections: Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, USA; Zimmerli Art Museum, New Jersey, USA; Gallery “ZELENA”, New York, USA; Albert Shors, Ghent, Belgium and others. Nominee of the I. Trush Prize.
