“From morning till dawn”

BOZHKO NINA, born in 1928, Kyiv – Ukrainian artist. Works in the field of poster, book and easel graphics. Merited artist of Ukraine (1993). Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. In 1949 – graduated from the Kyiv College of Applied Art, 1956 – Kyiv Art Institute (currently The National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture), teachers V. Kasiian, V. ZADOROZHNYI. Works in the field of graphics and painting. A famous portraitist. Author of works on Shevchenko themes: poster “T. H. Shevchenko” (1961): colored linocut — “It’s Hard For Me To Live an Orphan In This World”, “Monument to T. H. Shevchenko in Kyiv” (both — 1961), “All Quiet”, “The Edge of the Sky is Burning…”, “Wind Howls Over the Oak Grove…”, “Spring Blossoms Green…”, “The Sheerful Sun Was Setting…”(all 1964), a series of “Women’s fate” (lithograph, 1967-1969). Author of works — posters – “Ivan Franko”(1956); series – works dedicated to Kyiv (1971-72), portraits of Kyiv – artists (1976-1980); factory workers “Arsenal” (1985-1987); landscapes, still life (1988-1994). Author of famous illustrations for children’s books. Works are on display in museums in Ukraine and abroad. Lives and works in Kyiv.
