“A still life”

MAKSYMENKO MYKOLA, born in 1924, Yarapovychi, Zhytomyr oblast – died in 2016 – Ukrainian painter, master of landscape and still life. He studied at the Art Studio of Magnitohorsk (1941-1942). He got lessons from I. Hrabar. Maksymenko held the rank of people’s artist of the USSR. The artist was the laureate of Shevchenko National Prize for a series of works “Landscapes Ukraine” (1994). He was the member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. The artist worked in the field of easel painting, in particular, in the genres of landscape and still life. Became People’s Artist of Ukraine in 1994. His works are stored in many museums in Ukraine and private and corporate collections worldwide. He lived and worked in Zhytomyr. The works of Mykola Maksymenko are popular among the most demanding collectors.
