BABENKO IVAN, born on October 19, 1935, Kyiv — Kharkiv painter, graphic artist and poster artist. Works in genres of thematic paintings, portraits, landscapes and still life. He studied at the Kharkiv State School of Art and the Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute in Lviv. Member of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine (1974). Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1990). Lives and works in Kharkiv. Since 1991, associate Professor of Kharkiv State Academy of Municipal Economy. Since 1966, took an active part in exhibitions. His paintings were exhibited in Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria and Poland. The main solo exhibitions were held in Kharkiv (1975, 1966, 2000) and Moscow (1993). His artworks are in the Ministry of Culture and many museums in Ukraine.
