“In the workshop”

HERTSENOK VICTOR, born in September, 17, 1934 – died in 2017 – member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Famous Ukrainian graphic artist. He graduated from the Odesa art school named after M. Hrekov, studied with tutors I. Hurskyi and B. Puteiko. His first known graphic was devoted to the industrial giant “Zaporizhstal”. In the same period (50s), the artist created a series of sketches of Dnipro Hydroelectric Station. These works became successful auction lots. Since 1958 he worked as an artist in Zaporizhzhia oblast, a community of artists. Since 1960 he participated in national and all-Union exhibitions. Member of National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1964. The author of many personal exhibitions in Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine and beyond.

Victor Hertsenok remains the most famous artist from Zaporizhzhia. In 2018, an exhibition of his industrial works was held in the French Cultural Center in Ukraine. Hertsenok’s works are kept in the National Art Museum and other museums of Ukraine. His personal and group exhibitions were held in the USA (New York), England (London), Poland (Wroclaw), Japan (Tokyo).
