“Girl”

SUKHOLIT OLEXANDR, born in 1960, in Chornotychi village, Chernihivska oblast – Ukrainian sculptor, artist, graphic artist and installation creator. Studied between 1979-1986 at the Kyiv State Art Institute (currently The National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture), department of sculpture. The Leader of the sculptural << seminar >> of the 90s the << Alphabet >>, creator of famous sculptural compositions in Kyiv city. His personal exhibition was held at the National art Museum of Ukraine in 2004. His works were presented in the dialogue with the work of the world-famous avant-garde sculpture artist of the early 20th century Alexander Arkhipenko. It was the intention of the curators to show the inheritance between the two most important generations of ukrainian artists. The exhibition was organized thanks to the support of the German government. Sculptor artist nº1 in Ukraine according to the art magazine Aura and nº2 according to the Forbes magazine. This is the only ukrainian artist whose works were selected by the jury of the International mini print Triennale in Tokyo and the Triennale print in Osaka (Japan). He has almost all genres and techniques in his artistic arsenal: painting, drawing, engraving on copper, bronze, stone and plaster reliefs, the use of dry needle technique and others. It is prestigious to have Sukholit’s works in collections and therefore the demand is high and constantly growing. Lives and works in Kyiv.
