DEREGUS MYKHAILO, born on November 22, 1904, Vesele village, Kharkiv oblast – died in 1997 – Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. People’s artist of the USSR and the Soviet Union. Merited artist of the USSR. Laureate of Shevchenko National Prize of the USSR. Professor. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. 1925-1930 – studied at the Kharkiv Art Institute, tutors: M. Burachek, O. Kokel, M. Sharonov, S. Prokhorov. Unsurpassed master of color. In 2019, one of the streets of Kyiv was named in his honor.
