KRYVENKO MYKHAILO, born on May 10, 1921, Novokormykha (Altai Krai) – died on December 21, 2008 – Ukrainian painter, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, merited worker of arts of the USSR. He held the rank of people’s artist of the USSR since 1977. From 1944-1950, he studied at the Kyiv art Institute (now the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture) under professors – V. Kostetskiy and O. Petrytskiy. The artist’s painting “Cossack rode to war…”(1954), the version of which we present, is on display in the permanent exhibition of the National Art Museum of Ukraine. He lived and worked in Kyiv.
