“Ballet dancer”

LERMAN ZOE, born on June 14, 1934, Kyiv – died in 2014 – Ukrainian painter. She graduated from KSAI (now the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture) in 1957 where she studied under V. Kostetskyi, G. Melikhov, S. Prokofiev, S. Grigoriev. She was the member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Zoe Lerman is one of the brightest and distinctive exponents of ukrainian painting. She is listed among the leaders of the ukrainian non-conformist movement. Her works are distinguished by a unique juxtaposition of the ideology of “the Stern” and lyricism. Her paintings are on display in museums in Ukraine and private collections around the world. At the end of the 70s, the world-famous Ludwig Museum bought her several works.
