STOLIARENKO PETRO, born in 1925, village Kashtany – died in 2018 – Ukrainian landscape painter, marine painter, expert in still life. Merited Artist of Ukraine (1972). People’s Artist of Ukraine (1985). People’s Artist of the USSR. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. 1930 – 1940 studied at the Studio of K. Bogaevskii, All-Russian Academy of Arts (Leningrad), Kyiv Art Institute (now The National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture). Since 1945 – in the Studio of M.Barsamov (Feodosiya). He lived and worked in Paris for five years and his work is exhibited abroad regularly. Follower of French impressionism. He appears to be holding a leading position among the ukrainian impressionists of the second half of the twentieth century. His still life and landscapes are considered to be unsurpassed in coloration and composition.
