MAMSIKOV MAKSYM, born in 1968 in the family of artists: Vladyslav Mamsikov and Iryna Herasymova in Kyiv – famous ukrainian artist, the author of video installations and performances, member of the art squat “Paris commune” (1990 -1994). He graduated from the Kyiv State Academy of arts, faculty of graphics (1988-1994). Maksym Mamsikov’s artistic practice is based on the free investigation of the infinite diversity of reality which is subsequently transformed into picturesque images. The artist’s painting is deliberately concise but filled with formal and meaningful unity. The works of the “blue cycle” are the most popular among collectors. With this very work of this cycle Maksym Mamsikov made his debut at the London auction “Sotheby’s”. His canvas “Seascape with a parachute” was sold for 10.000 euros. The very same year, 2009, the auction “Philips de Pury” sold three painting by Mamsikov – “Sea battle” for 20.000 euros, “Lenin” for 8.000 euros and “Call” for 11.300 euros. His works are stored in private and museum collections in Ukraine, Russia, Europe and the United States. He is the winner of the competition of young artists of Ukraine (2003). Lives and works in Kyiv.
