“Couple in the boat”

STOLIARENKO PETRO (1925-2018) – Ukrainian landscape painter, expert in still life. Merited Artist of Ukraine (1972). People’s Artist of Ukraine (1985) and member of the National Union of Artists. Lived and worked in Paris for five years and his work is exhibited abroad regularly. Follower of French impressionism, appears to be holding a leading position among the ukrainian impressionists of the second half of the twentieth century. Petro worked mainly in the field of seascape and thematic paintings. His still life and landscapes are considered to be unsurpassed in coloration and composition.
